Scappoose Veterinary Hospital

It’s that time of year again! Flowers and trees are blooming, the grass is turning green, there is pollen in the air, and unfortunately, allergies are running amuck. Because of this common springtime concern, antihistamines are a go-to for many people to curb their allergy symptoms, and sometimes they’re even used for our pets’ allergies as well. Somethings are just too important in our life to go left unsaid. I wanted to take a moment and thank both Liz and the vet who this past Friday November 29th were there in a time of extreme loss of our beloved family member and our lifelong best friend, our German Shepard "Sage". You try and prepare for the loss of a loved one yet it never really works, and if it were not for the two professionals at the Scappoose Companion Pet Clinic going above and beyond for our family that day I am not sure how we would have coped. Relocating to the area from Bend we did not have a relationship established with a local vet, yet that Friday morning after making a call and brief visit to the clinic I knew that Sage would be cared for with the most compassion and competent care one could hope for. They were extremely busy that morning when I was there, being the day after Thanksgiving maybe shorter staffed yet just walking in with no prior notice or relationship built with the clinic Liz sensed the importance and extreme emotional pain my family was enduring moment by moment....and her comforting and reassuring demeanor came thru. They came to our home that Friday as soon as possible and I believe actually on their lunch hour none the less and were able to allow our family to be together at home with Sage in her passing. I cannot believe the kindness, compassion and professionalism the two of these ladies showed. This has been a most difficult time for our family yet if not for the two exceptional individuals above it could be much more so. Thank you both and the Companion Pet Clinic for being there for our family! The McKenna's
